The NECCTAR Trial

The " Nutritional Status Enhancement of Children through Behaviour Change Communication and Take Home Ration In India" project is a multi-state initiative being conducted across six districts in six states of India, aiming to tackle malnutrition in children aged 6–36 months. The project focuses on developing and testing an improved formulation of Take Home Rations (THR) under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, which is a critical government program addressing child nutrition, health, and development.

As part of the project, a rigorous Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of the new THR formulation in reducing malnutrition and improving child health outcomes. In Odisha, the study is being carried out in collaboration with AIIMS Bhubaneswar, which will providing critical support in research design, implementation, and evaluation. This project represents a significant step toward evidence-based interventions for combating childhood malnutrition in India.
